WTF - Warm Apples

Apple A Day Keeps The Doctor Away!

One of my favorite Fall comfort foods are apples. YES! apples. Cold, warm or hot apples are just yummy. On cool days I love to through a few apples in the crock pot and cook them down to enjoy later with breakfast, lunch, dinner , dessert or a snack. Here's what you do.
(This is great with oatmeal, serve hot with vanilla ice cream or stuff a spoonful in a biscuit and bake.)

I used 6 small gala apples - I have a small crock pot.
2 cups of sugar, sprinkle of cinnamon, apple pie spice & nutmeg.
After 4 hours of cooking on high.
All I need is to top it off with some whip cream.

Fall Into Autumn Canvas Glitzs

Got extra canvases?

For today's "Fall Into Autumn" craft. I wanted to stay with the theme of glitter; keeping the color palette the same as the glitter pumpkin from the Pumpkin Decor post.
What you will need is:
1. Canvas of any size, I'm using a 9x12
2. Glittering glue
3. 3 different color glitters

Glittering glue works well for glitter projects. You can find glue at Michaels
I used a Sharpie to draw in my word.
Place one coat of glittering glue in the area you want the glitter to stick.
Repeat with the 2nd glitter color.
I used a darker glitter color for the lettering.
Final piece makes for great Fall Decor.

Pumpkin Vignettes

Pumpkin Decor
Last year I was given a few foam pumpkins from Michaels. This for Fall decor, I wanted to create small vignettes around my home that would last throughout the Holiday seasons. I wanted to skip the sharp knives stenciles and spray paint and still create some beautiful pumpkins. Paint, Glitter and Glue is all you need. All pumpkins, glitter, glue from Michaels

Glitter Pumpkin

Draw out the pattern you want, use paint brush or sponge to apply glue, add glitter.
This process does take a while, let glitter/glue dry completely before adding new glitter.
I like using different textures of glitter.
Glitter vignette is taken outdoors. I love the colors.

Above: Owl from Target, ombre painted - upcycled wine bottle,
floral from Dollar Tree, painted glass pumpkin stand from Arc Thrift store.

Ombre Pumpkin

I used the tacky glue to create the a design. Allow to dry for 12 hrs before painting.
More painting.
Ombre is a gradient from light to dark. I choose these colors to match my bathroom decor.
Makes for a beautiful vignette in the bathroom. Above: Floral from Michaels
And another....
I created the pink glitter pumpkin last year, a few my favorite colors, a welcome sight in the kitchen.

Welcome to Fall Into Autumn

Hello ALL,
Welcome to Fall Into Autumn. It is the first time I've ever done Fall Into Autumn. Fall is my favorite time of the year, as it is with many people. But I wanted share some of my favorite foods, activities, clothing, art, craft, home decor, etc. with you and also share some ideas from guest bloggers.

If you want to know what's coming up on Fall Into Autumn, you can view our calendar.

This weekend I took a trip over to Target, to pick up some breakfast items and found myself in Thanksgiving/Christmas isles. One of my favorite fall candy is Candy Corn----YUMM! A fellow shopper was looking for Candy Corn also and told me she loves to mix it with nuts. I'd never tried Candy Corn with nuts, so I thought "what the heck - I'll give it a try" The combination of Candy Corn and nuts tastes a lot like BabyRuth. WOW! My first batch lasted only 3 days.............

This is how I did it.

Step 1: Buy ingredients.

I'm sure you can find these ingredients anywhere, I was at Target and that's I used Target's brand Market Pantry. Brach's does have Candy Corn with nuts already added; I wanted to control how much and the kind nuts to add to snack mix. I used both Cocktail Peanuts and Cashew halves.

All ingredients are from Target

  Step 2: Mix together

There is no exact measurements for mixing the ingredients. Mix according to your own preference.
I was pleasantly surprised with the taste. A combination of salt & sweet - BabyRuth by the handful.

Step 3: ENJOY!

This is a great mix to add to your kids lunch, take to work or leave out for everyone to enjoy.
If you are a BabyRuth fan, you will enjoy this snack.
